Use practice exams as a diagnostic, not a score hunt
An error-log method that turns missed questions into targeted review.
Classify the miss
For each incorrect or uncertain answer, record the objective, your reasoning and the reason the choice failed. Categories might include missing knowledge, confused concepts, rushed reading or weak application.
Do not copy protected exam content. Use your own description of the concept and a legitimate practice source so the log remains an ethical learning tool.
Repair the underlying model
Review the smallest source that resolves the gap, then explain the idea in plain language. Add one contrasting example that shows when a similar-looking answer would be correct.
If the error was procedural, perform the task or work through a fresh scenario. Recognition while rereading is weaker evidence than producing the solution unaided.
Retest after spacing
Return to the concept after a delay and use different wording or numbers. Immediate repetition can measure short-term memory instead of durable understanding.
Track repeated categories across several sessions. A rising total score can hide a persistent weakness if easy domains dominate the question mix.
